Hello everyone! I have been busily working on my 72. Does anyone know where to get the little round 'tabs' for the lower rear trunk trim ? It's the silver trim piece that goes between the taillights that the monte carlo name fits on. I do belive this is a 72 only piece.Any help would be appeciated!

Hey Kris,

Don't really know what your taliking about here...on a 72 the rear trim across the back of the car (about 2 inches wide from tail light to tail light) is held on by plastic rectangle clips that are held to the body by the nipples welded to that panel.

You can give Leo a call for those....

My trim pc. between the taillights is held on by two 2 3/4" clips, one on each end, that have a nut inside the trunk. I do not know if this is stock but I need to get two more of these molding clips because every time I drive it I have to push the center back in because it vibrates out.

Someone changed that on your car..... there should be at least 4 of the clips I spoke of....... Anyone have a pic for Kris of the rear with trim off?

You can get the clips I'm speaking of and hold them in place with screws...apparently someone has already drilled 2 holes in the metal so a couple of small screws coming threw won't even be noticable.
